A vet is available for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days of the year.  This should provide you with the peace of mind that we are always there when you need us.

Lambing problems

Our team of 7 large animal vets are always keen to assist in any difficult lambings.  We ensure that our prices make the vets time economical to both the pedigree breeders and also for commercial flocks.  Lambings at the surgery may cost less than £35, and a straight forward caesarean at the surgery costs approximately £90 (including drugs).  Please bring your ewes down to the surgery in a trailer, along with two small bales of straw (to be used as an operating table!)

Euthanasia

We are able to euthanise sheep on farm or at the surgery.  We understand that the cost of euthanasia by a vet, often makes it uneconomical.  However if you are unable to get the knacker-man quickly and want to prevent suffering then we are able to assist.  Please note that you must take the carcass back to the farm with you for collection.
