We have a vacancy for a full time farm vet to join our 13 vet team which consists of a mixture of climbers, wild swimmers, runners, hill walkers and many dogs, based here in Northwest England with the Southern Lake District, the Howgills and Forest of Bowland within our working territory. Fantastic transport connections with the M6 and West Coast Railway.
You would be joining an independent progressive practice with -

Clinical freedom with experienced colleagues on hand.

CPD encouraged and supported, we have several certificate holders within the practice. Being a member of Farm Vet Network allows us to facilitate some high quality CPD locally.

Monthly vet clinical club to discuss cases and topics.

2 vets on call for out of hours at all times, 3 in lambing time.

New graduate on call always backed up by a senior vet.

Involvement with our client schemes and other areas of interest – e.g. Sheep club and our Healthy Heifer scheme thoroughly encouraged.

Bonus scheme based on proactive activities such as client meetings, writing articles etc.. Not target based.

Predominantly a farm animal position, however, we do have potential to include some small animal work at our Sedbergh branch if desired.

Work Experience - we welcome students over the age of 16 or currently at vet college, who are interested in becoming farm veterinary surgeons, with a genuine interest in large animal surgery and working with farm business clients. Please contact Lesley Faulkner, as above. Please note, we do not currently employ nurses, or take on students for nursing or animal care work experience.
