Farm Gate Vets is a large animal practice dedicated to providing the highest level of services to the farmers of Lancashire and Cumbria. Farm Gate Vets is a new company, which has been formed by merging the farm divisions of Bay Vets in Lancaster with Highgate Vets in Kendal. The merger has brought together a team of 7 dedicated farm vets, with more than 90 years of experience between them.
At Farm Gate Vets, our aim is to provide farmers with an exceptional service at a competitive price.

NEWSFLASH......
Tuesday 28th February 2012 - at meeting of the Sheep Veterinary Society, a condition called lamb nephrosis or drunken lamb disease was discussed. We've seen it around here in the past but it may be being under reported. In North Wales some farmers are reporting 50 cases per year. Until now the cause has been unknown but recent research has indicated bacterial overgrowths in the gut may be the cause. Simple and cost effective treatments are resulting in 75% of lambs recovering from this otherwise fatal syndrome. Contact Mark for further details.
